In 2023, the Sir Pius Ufudo Foundation launched a game-changing initiative — the Nnobi Health Insurance Scheme, designed to provide free health coverage for indigent citizens of Nnobi. At a time when access to basic healthcare remains a challenge for many, this bold step is not just a social intervention — it is a lifeline.
Through a strategic partnership with the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, the Foundation covered the full annual premiums for 464 Nnobi citizens in the scheme’s first year. In 2024, that number rose to 500 — a strong statement of growth and sustainability.
But the impact didn’t stop there.
Inspired by the Foundation’s leadership and commitment to community welfare, other supporters joined the mission. In 2024, the Nnobi US Diaspora Health Initiative and the Okigbo Family extended their hands of support, covering 144 and 100 additional citizens respectively. This collective effort has brought the total number of beneficiaries to an impressive 744 individuals — all now enjoying access to affordable, quality healthcare.
This program has brought real change:
Reduced medical financial burden on families
Improved access to primary health services
Boosted trust in community-based development
At the heart of this effort is a powerful vision — universal health insurance coverage for all Nnobi people by 2030. And with every covered life, that vision is coming into sharper focus.
The journey continues, and every new partner, donor, and advocate brings us closer to a healthier, more inclusive future for our people. The Sir Pius Ufudo Foundation invites you to be part of this transformative movement. Because good health should never be a luxury — it should be a right.
“Healthcare is not a privilege for the few, but a promise to all.”
🌍 Join us in making this vision a reality.
